A Wedding at The Elms Hotel

Some weddings make you feel like you’ve just walked onto the set of a romantic movie, and that’s exactly what happened when Meranda and Carlos tied the knot on a toasty August afternoon at The Elms Hotel in Excelsior Springs, Missouri. It was elegant, intimate, and bursting with love. And let me tell you—this wedding had vibes.

The ceremony? Straight out of a fairytale. A harpist played dreamy music while Meranda and Carlos said “I do” in front of their closest family and friends. But the standout moment? The handfasting knot. They literally tied the knot during the ceremony, and I may or may not have been holding back tears while snapping away.

From there, it was all about the celebration—and oh, what a celebration it was! Every guest got a tiny bell to ring for the couple’s grand entrance, which was as joyful as it sounds (think: a whole room cheering and jingling). The reception decor was just as thoughtful, with personalized place cards for every guest—including me! (Talk about feeling special.)

Photographing a wedding at The Elms Hotel was a treat. Between the grand front awning, the gorgeous lobby, and the lush greenery around the gazebo, I was in photographer heaven. Everywhere you turned was another dreamy spot begging for a photo.

But honestly? The best part wasn’t the venue or even the bells (though those were adorable). It was the people. Every single guest had nothing but love and joy for Meranda and Carlos. You could feel it in the air—the kind of love that makes you believe in soulmates.

Weddings like this remind me why I love my job so much. It’s about capturing not just the moments but the feelings. And boy, were there feelings. Scroll down to see some of my favorite highlights from their gallery—I promise you’ll feel the love, too.
